Dear City of London Police, I wish to make a freedom of information request and would be grateful if you could supply the following information, broken down by nationality (note - in any instance where an certain nationality has fewer than 5 results, please use FOI best practice and simply provide the appropriate response of "<5") for the years 2018 - 2024 - the total number of arrests (and broken down by nationality) for each detailed offence within the following the offence groups: "violence against the person" and "sexual offences". - the total number of arrests by your force (and broken down by nationality) that led to an individual being proceeded against for each detailed offence within the following offence groups: "violence against the person" and "sexual offences". If possible, I would also be grateful if you could disclose the number of arrests (2018 - 2024) for violence against the person which are a knife crime (broken down by nationality) as well as the number of cases that led to an individual being proceeded against (broken down by nationality)

I write under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act to request the number of reported incidents involving a citizens arrests (Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Section 24A) between 2019 and June 2025 As part of this request, I would like the information to be broken down into the following; i) The number of reported incidents involving a citizen's arrests, broken down into years (e.g. 2019, 2020, 2021 etc) ii) The number of reported incidents involving citizens arrests broken down by arrest types (shoplifting, assault, etc) for each year between 2019 and 2025 iii) The number of reported incidents involving citizens arrests carried out by individuals with a Security Industry Authority license, for each year between 2019 and 2025 iv) The number of reported incidents involving citizen arrests that have resulted in the arrested individual being formally charged with a crime for each year between 2019 and 2025. v) Additionally, I'd like to know how citizen arrests are tracked in official statistics by the City of London police, including which forms are used to log them. Please present the information in Excel format.

  3. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am conducting a comprehensive analysis of sexual offences. To facilitate this, I kindly request detailed police-recorded data on all sexual offences for the most recent 12-month period, if available, for the most recent full reporting year, and the last 10 years. 1. Offence categories – e.g., rape, sexual assault (by penetration), sexual assault (non‑penetrative), grooming, online sexual crimes, etc. 2. Geographic breakdown – by policing divisions or lower (e.g., county, borough, LPA). 3. Victim and perpetrator demographics: ◦ Age group (e.g., 0–10, 11–17, 18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60 +). ◦ Gender. ◦ Race and self-defined ethnicity (including subcategories, e.g., British‑Pakistani, White‑British, etc.). ◦ Nationality (specify if naturalised; where available, indicate country of birth). 4. Relationship between perpetrator and victim (e.g., family member, acquaintance, stranger, partner, authority figure). 5. Location of incident (e.g., home, public space, school, online). 6. Offender criminal history (e.g., first-time offender or previous convictions). 7. Optional: Outcome of the case (e.g., charge, conviction, no further action). I understand that some categories may not be recorded or complete breakdowns may not be available. If this is the case, please specify what is available and advise on recommended routes for missing data (e.g., MoJ, NCA, CPS).

If no local or national policy exists, what is the force's official position on naming officers in such cases? 3.   7. * How many total police officers do you have serving? Please provide the number and percentage of serving police officers who have failed re-vetting procedures in the last five years. How many of these officers are still serving even though they have failed re-vetting? * For the last three years, please provide as many examples as is financially possible of the following: The rationale provided for rejecting vetting clearance for officers in relation to adverse information recorded as Violence Against Women and Girls-related. In each example, I would like a copy of the report made in rejecting vetting clearance, or as much of it as possible. * Does your force conduct face-to-face interviews (not including through audio/video telecommunications) as part of the vetting process? * Does your force check the content on publically available social media to ensure that the applicant's online behaviour is compatible with the Code of Ethics or Standards of Professional Behaviour, as part of the vetting process? * Please provide the average time between a police officer's initial vetting and re-vetting in your police force.

  8. I was wondering if I could receive stats regarding the number of women killed by men from 2021 - 2023. Can I know the the age, race, ethnicity, etc. of these women and men? Also, can the stats be based around murder offences only where the accused is or are male only, please?

We write further to request the below information; We write to make a Freedom of Information Act request in respect of City of London Police Force and information relating to suspects who are under investigation for allegations of sexual assault and rape. We request the following information: 1. Please state how many people commit suicide whilst either being released under investigation or on police bail for allegations of sexual assault and/or rape. 2. Please state how many deaths have been reported by your force to a Coroner where the deceased had:- a) been under investigation by your force; and b) the offence was one of rape and/or sexual assault. 3. Please state how many cases have been reported to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as a Death or Serious Injury matter by your force where:- a) a person has died; and b) had been under investigation for an offence of either rape and/or sexual assault.' Please provide us with the information we have requested for the last 5 calendar years.
